Dunkin Donuts French Cruller Recipe

There are only a few things you need to make Dunkin' Donuts French Cruller donuts at home. The donuts will be ready in less than 30 minutes and don't need yeast.

Cut 12 parchment paper squares about palm-sized. Donuts will be piped onto them. Spray a baking sheet with baking spray. Set aside.

Well blend powdered sugar and milk in a large medium bowl. The mixture should be thick yet pourable and lump-free. Add one tablespoon of milk for a clearer glazing. Add little milk for thicker glazing. Set aside.

Add water, butter, granulated sugar, and salt to a medium sauce pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Stir often.

Over medium heat, immediately whisk in 1 cup of flour with a wooden spoon when the butter is completely melted. Stir constantly over medium heat for 2 minutes. This will lighten the donuts by removing batter moisture.

Mix the batter for 1 minute on medium-high speed in a stand mixer bowl with the paddle attachment to cool it.

Reduce mixer speed to medium and add eggs one at a time. After adding the egg whites, mix until smooth and glossy.

Put the mixture in a large pastry bag with a star tip and pipe donut rings on the paper squares.

Fill a heavy-bottomed sauce pan with 2-3 inches of vegetable oil, bring to 370F, then decrease heat to medium low and cook the donuts.

Transfer a donut, parchment paper side up, to the pan with a spatula, fry for a few seconds, then remove the paper using chopsticks. Fry donuts till puffy and golden brown, 1 minute per side.

Take the donuts out of the pan and place them on a cooling rack. Using a spoon, pour some of the sauce over the donuts right away.
