A nice-smelling, crunchy, and sweet snack that everyone loves. Just right for the holidays!
– 2/3 cup (150 g) white granulated sugar– 1/3 cup (50 g) dark brown sugar, (light is okay too)– 1/2 teaspoon sea salt– 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon– 1 pound (450 g) whole raw almond– 1 egg white– 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste, or extract– 2 teaspoons water
INGREDIENTS
Set aside a big baking sheet and heat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Afterward, line it with parchment paper.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
In a medium bowl, mix the sugar, salt, and cinnamon together. Mix the egg white, water, and vanilla in a different bowl. Beat the mixture until it gets foamy.
STEP 2
Mix the almonds into the egg whites and stir them around until they are all covered. Add sugar and keep stirring the almonds with a spoon until they are all covered.
STEP 3
Put the nuts on the baking sheet so that they are all in one layer. Stir the food every 10 minutes for 30 minutes.
STEP 4
Take the nuts out of the oven and let them cool down. The ones that are sticking together should be split up.
STEP 5
Keep almonds at room temperature in a jar that won't let air in (or several if you're making gifts) and eat them within two weeks.
