Healthy Oatmeal Banana Mug Cake Recipe

A quick and easy on-demand treat for sweet, comforting, and halthful cravings! This healthy Oatmeal Banana Mug Cake is delicious for breakfast, snack or dessert. Adapt ingredients to your nutritional needs! 


– 1 large egg – 4 Tbsp milk of choice or egg whites* – 1 large very ripe banana – ½ cup rolled oats – ½ tsp ground cinnamon – ¼ tsp sea salt – 1 Tbsp chocolate chips optional

Mix everything except the chocolate chips in a small blender. A NutriBullet or other blender with a small carafe works, but I use my Magic Bullet.

If making mug cakes for two, double the recipe and use a regular blender. Blend until the oats are well blended. Mix chocolate chips into batter. 

Step 2

Put batter in a microwave-safe mug. To avoid spills, use a large mug. Sprinkle chocolate chips on the batter if desired. Put a tablespoon of butter in the batter now. 

Step 3

Cook the cake in the microwave for 3 minutes. Eat the mug cake plain or with honey or maple syrup and butter.
