Instant Pot Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup Recipe Learn like a Chef 

This bright lemon and fresh herb meal has loads of vegetables and delicious shredded chicken. This orzo-based dinner is filling. Use your Instant Pot for this quick recipe.  

– 2 tablespoon olive oil – 1 large onion – 2 large carrots  – 2 stalks celery – 1 teaspoon salt  – 1 teaspoon pepper  – 4 cups chicken broth  – 1 lemon – 1 pound chicken breast – ¾ cup orzo – ½ cup frozen pea – ¼ cup fresh dill  – 2 tablespoon fresh parsley – 1 lemon



Set your Instant Pot to sauté. Add olive oil and heat. Sauté onion, carrots, and celery for 3 minutes until very tender and transparent.  


Add salt and pepper and stir. Put chicken broth in. Add lemon halves, chicken breasts, and 4 cups water.  


Set the Instant Pot to Soup and set the timer to 7 minutes. Wait 10 minutes for the natural release cycle after the Instant Pot cycle.   


If you need to release quickly, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Unlock and remove the instant pot lid carefully.  


Remove chicken breasts from broth and shred with two forks. Add orzo to the broth and sauté again in the Instant Pot.  


Continue cooking uncovered for 6 minutes until noodles are done. Press the cancel button to turn off the Instant Pot.  


Return the shredded chicken to the Instant Pot, add the frozen peas and dill, and season to taste. Sprinkle parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
