Maple Spiced Pear and Walnut Baked Brie Recipe

A one-of-a-kind and delicious appetiser that is perfect for sharing with friends is baked brie that is topped with caramelised pears and walnuts.

– 1 Tbsp olive oil butter, coconut oil – 1 large comice pear peeled, cored, and diced – 3 tablespoons raw walnuts chopped – 1 tablespoon pumpkin seed – 2 tablespoons golden raisin – 1 tablespoon dried cranberries – 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup – 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon – 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom optional – 1 pinch sea salt to taste – 1 7-ounce wheel brie cheese,

Heat everything except the brie cheese in a small skillet on medium-high. Cook 5–8 minutes, stirring regularly, until liquid thickens, pears soften, and everything is sticky.

Start with a 350-degree oven.  To prepare brie cheese, remove the top rind with a sharp knife (or leave it on).

Put cheese in an oven-safe dish, preferably the serving dish. Bake 15–20 minutes on the centre rack with the pear-walnut mixture on top.

Serve baked brie with gluten-free crackers, sliced pears or apples, or toasted baguette.
