Dissolve 4 packets of plain gelatin in 1 cup of cold water in a bowl. Mix sweetened condensed milk in a medium basin. Add 2 cups hot water and stir by hand until mixed.

You usually merely mix the packet mixture with cold water. Pour it over the creamy milk layer and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to set the jelly.
Put the cake in a basin of boiling water for a few seconds, cover with a serving dish, and turn upside down to remove it from the pan. Put back in the fridge for an hour before serving.
Silicone molds make cake removal easy, so you may skip the hot water step.
