Creamy banana-sweet potato smoothie with cinnamon, almond milk, and vegan yogurt. It's delicious and filling, perfect for breakfast or afternoon snacks.
– 1 small baked sweet potato, skins removed (or 1/2 heaping cup sweet potato puree)– 1 small banana, fresh or frozen– 1/2 cup (120 ml) dairy-free yogurt, (I like both soy or coconut milk yogurt)– 2/3 cup (160 ml) unsweetened almond milk, (vanilla flavored is wonderful too)– 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon– 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom, (optional)– 1/4 cup orange juice, (optional)
INGREDIENTS
In a blender, combine all of the ingredients and process on high speed for approximately one minute, or until the mixture is totally smooth.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Feel free to taste it and, if desired, add additional spices, sugars, or milk. After that, serve it right away.
STEP 2
Notes:-My recipe for baked sweet potatoes lets you get the potatoes ready ahead of time. You can eat some warm and save the rest to make shakes.
STEP 3
Leave out the banana if you don't want to use it. You can use oats, dates, protein powder, more yogurt, broccoli florets, or something else instead.
